About Us
The Storehouse of Jesus Is a 501 (C) (3) religious corporation that was established in 1992. Our primary purpose is to teach the Word of God to the world through (1) feeding the hungry, (2) sheltering the homeless, (3) ministering to the sick and the poor, (4) contributing to the outreach of other ministries, and (5) conducting activities with other church organizations that promote the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Storehouse of Jesus started with the delivery of left overs from dinner. My wife and I would pack up the leftover food and go out on the streets of the San Fernando Valley and distribute to those we saw in need. As we continued to distribute our left overs we recognized the extent of the unmet need. God through the Lord Jesus Christ, anointed us with a vision of a storehouse filled with all the goods and services one would need to live an abundant life. The Lord Jesus Christ expanded our vision to include the sick and hopeless. As a result of the goodness of the Lord Jesus Christ in our lives we want to share with others that there is a way out of discouraging circumstances.
In 2007 ,The Storehouse of Jesus partnered with Albertsons Markets’ Fresh Food program. This partnership has enabled us to feed between 400 and 500 people per month. We are currently delivering food to 3 churches operating food pantries 3 times per week and, in addition, supplying food to 30-40 families per week. Our ministry also includes preparing and serving food to the homeless every 2nd Saturday of the month at Sunland Park.
The Storehouse of Jesus is a self supported ministry that has a vision of a facility for the distribution of food and transitional housing for single parent families that are homeless. The Storehouse of Jesus also has a heart to address the needs of youth emancipated from foster care who may lack the vision and/or training to overcome the pitfalls of adulthood and attain success spiritually, emotionally and financially that the Lord Jesus Christ desires for those He calls His own.
It is the vision of the Storehouse of Jesus that you prosper in the promises of the Lord Jesus Christ.
FEEDING THE HUNGRY
The Storehouse conducts this activity through serving meals in a congregate setting, person-to-person distribution of prepared food, door-to-door distribution of groceries to families and the purchase and distribution of gift cards issued by grocery stores for the purchase of food. The Storehouse currently partnerships with Albertsons Fueling Fresh Food Rescue program that supplies the Storehouse with dairy, meat, deli, fresh produce and bakery products for distribution. The Storehouse supplies 2 churches and 2 food pantries with food for distribution to families. The Storehouse also supplies food to selected families without the means to keep their children fed.
SHELTERING THE HOMELESS
The Storehouse provides shelter for the homeless through the purchase of bed space from non-profit organizations that provide shelter for the homeless. In the event that there is no bed space available at homeless shelters, the Storehouse will rent rooms for a limited period of time at motels. The ultimate goal of the Storehouse is the purchase of a housing facility to be known as the “House of Restoration” for the sheltering of the homeless. The target population for residents of the “House of Restoration” will be single parent families, in which the parent is or has been a victim of substance abuse or domestic violence. The “House of Restoration” is not intended to provide permanent residence but to enable a person to overcome addictions and unemployment through the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and transition to the place and state God predestined us to be.
MINISTERING TO THE SICK AND THE POOR
The Storehouse believes that the stripes Jesus endured has healed us of all diseases past, present and future (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24). The Word of God says that we are partakers of “the Divine Nature” (2 Peter 1:4). The Storehouse believes “Divine Healing” is the will of God for all who confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The Word of God also says that the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, also dwells in us and restores to life our mortal bodies (Romans 8:11). It is the knowledge of the will of God and the compassion expressed by believers to one another that manifests healing in our bodies. This activity is conducted through healing services at a limited number of locations and friendly visiting.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO OTHER MINISTRIES
The Storehouse vision is to coordinate with other churches in conducting activities that serve to teach and preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus. These activities include but are not limited to revivals, concerts, plays, seminars, conferences, missions, and etc. These events are to be planned, developed and implemented on an on-going basis for the purpose of generating collaborations with other ministries for the support of activities of which the Storehouse participates.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
The Storehouse visions are to support and sponsor weekend camps, retreats and other recreational events for children and adults in which the application of the Word of God is taught. The purpose of this activity is to teach the Word of God in an environment of Christian Fellowship and to strengthen family relationships.
