What’s “Being Born Again”?

As a living person we have no control of being born. There is no choice for us in determining whether or not we are going to be born. No one, except our creator, determines our birth. It happens. The Heavenly Father knew that we would have to be “born again”. His plan was to provide us the choice, freewill, of being children of the Kingdom of God or children of the world. In other words, God knew we would need a savior to restore our relationship with Him. A savior not born of the flesh, but born of the Spirit. A savior like unto man, but yet of the Heavenly Father.

This person had to be able to relate to man, feel as he feels and living within the restrictions and temptations of the flesh, but able to show man who He, God, created us to be. In God’s wisdom, He decided He would come to earth as a man and be the savior of man for the purpose of reconciling us to Himself. God came to earth fully being man, and equally, fully being God. He did not come to earth in many bodies. He came to earth in one body and that body is named Jesus Christ of Nazareth. That is why absolutely no one can get to God but through confessing Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Life is in the blood. No one can live if there is no blood.

Jesus shed His blood for the salvation (life) of mankind. We make the choice of accepting Jesus as Our Lord and Savior and being forgiven of all of our sins. The old man/woman passes away and the new man/woman is created through Jesus. This is what we call being “born again”.
